  1. You forgot to mention your system specs,, I assume 8-core Inter Mac Pro with at least 16GB ram? Please fill us in Michael.

Nice template, I am amazed you can load all those samples at once! I am using 5 computers to do the same..

  2. mpatti says:

Yes, I should mention that: 8-Core 2.8 GHZ 8Gigs RAM

  3. Tom says:

That seems very complicated, but once its set up its great. What about the video? Shouldn’t there be a video track? Since you are scoring for film.

    Thanks

    What about your HDD setup?

  5. mpatti says:

All the samples are on one 1TB SATA drive. Nothing fancy.

Great video and thanks for taking the time to make it. Can you share why you are using Bidule instead of just loading everything directly in DP? Is memory used more efficiently that way? You are getting a huge amount of samples into 8 gig of RAM. Respect! :)

  7. Hi Mike, where i can buy the Orchestral Template, i need so much, is more simple to make a good orquestration if you have all in one list…
    Thank you for time…

    Hi Mike:
Just wondering…why bother with the Auxes?

Why do you not set the input of those red ‘final bounce’ audio tracks to the applicable bus
and put Altiverb instances on the insert slots–esentially replacing the Aux tracks with your audio tracks?

They seem redundant in the workflow, and I’m wondering how the auxes help you.

    Thanks,
    Charles

  9. mpatti says:

    Hi Charles,

If you just put Altiverb on the insert slots of the audio tracks it won’t print the verb.

    Mike

  10. Charles says:

Thanks, Mike–did not realize the insert slots worked that way…

I see you use VSL power panning.
For the non-VSL instruments, how do you do the panning?

I see that your Symphobia channels inside Kontakt are panned center and your aux tracks are panned center.

So are you using the ‘speaker placement’ feature inside each Altiverb instance for panning the non-VSL tracks?

    Thanks,
    Charles

    Hi Mike,

    wow, very impressive Template.

I´ve seen you are using VSL, EastWest, Symphobia, …
    But what is “BIG”?
I´ve read it in your template under strings and brass. It is your own library?

    All the best,

    Hendrik

    Hello Mike,

thank you so much for this tutorial really interesting. However, i wanted to ask why alot tracks of DP and in Kontakt there were instruments doubled ?
(Str Ens Sustain Dyn (2X), Str Ens tremolo Dyn (2X), etc …)

    Thanks
    Laurent

How were the 8 processor cores handling it?

Do they peak out at all on a busy score?
