screencast #5: iron guitars

  1. This instrument is probably really interesting and I’ll most likely buy it.

But that screencast is one of the worst I’ve ever seen, or listened to — apparently unrehearsed aimless noodling and half the time you can’t even hear what the guy’s saying!

If your aim is to whip up enthusiasm for Iron Guitars, I think you’ll have to do quite a bit better than that…

    Best regards,

    Joachim

    Honest feedback! Thank you. ;)
Please listen to the MP3 demos if the screencast is not a help to you.

  3. you cant be serious what screen cast quality are you talking about ?!!
Mike is doing a demonstration video in his own home to show us the library use in real time,u missed the point,he is doing a simple fast thing for video and audio that is supposed to be spontaneous and “unrehearsed” stupid.
The quality is more then great, knowing he is a professional working composer and someone who owns a high quality sample library comp. who ve got family and childrens and probably a bunch of other stuff more important then waisting weeks in video production.
i see this to be very generous to do such videos to give us better idea of the library while most others just hire composers to make a super produced mp3 files.

his screencasts are the most informative and probably the only ones over the net.
you might be able to make a better screencast but am sure you can not compose in hours what he sketches in 7 minutes !

thx Mike for this videos and keep them coming.

    Joachim,

Mike’s videos are 1st class; as are all of cinesamples products … I’m surprised you’re not extremely impressed (like me).

BTW: most Film/TV composition starts off as noodling!
    :-)

I would like audio demos. no vids. Sound is important to me, not how it’s implemented. Are there MP3 demos on the site?

    Hi KR,

There are currently 2 demos on the Iron Guitars product page:

  7. The application of this library would be limited (it actually does sound JUST like the Iron Man soundtrack). So, won’t every composition that comes from these samples simply remind the listener of that particular score?

However, it does sound very good and fairly realistic. It also seems fun as hell.

Are there any plans to extend this library? With sounds that aren’t so reminiscent of Tony Stark’s alter ego?

Overall, probably a great buy down the road.

  8. This definitely looks and sounds like a fun instrument, I enjoyed the video as it gives and idea of the product in use.

For the quality and price, can’t argue too much about it being limited to power chords.

Seems to be enough ability to get in and tweak to keep it useful.
